It just took me out of the episode a bit as something they didn't think through, since it so obviously didn't make any sense canonically unless I'm missing something. The Doctor has like at least 4 origin stories that were all, as you put it 'CANON' at one time or another. PEDANTIC NITPICK INCOMING: 10 Forward in 2024. I liked the Young Guinan scenes, although. Would be a great way to make me lose interest.

And the Q bit at the end was interesting, but I hope they don't keep just having a 30 second Q update every episode and drag it out. The Watcher scenes were cool, gave me Travelers vibes, which is a good thing, that was a cool show. In part, that's because time travel is purely.
